The Brandy Bar features the following artists during the month of October 2018. Please join us for a lively evening of good brandy, friendly company, and lively entertainment.
October 6th – Karl Lauber is a singer-songwriter who delivers a distinctly listenable music mix with his multi-instrument/multi-vocal solo. His music is topical, country, and Appalachian Americana that brings a fresh approach to familiar sounds.
October 12 – Carolina Bound –features singer/songwriter Chris Smith on guitar. You will see and feel the influence of the Blue Ridge Mountains on him. The simplicity of his songwriting is refreshing and incredibly easy to listen to, especially on a lazy weekend afternoon. Smith’s vocals are vulnerable, sweet and melancholic in their delivery of lyrics steeped in country and folk traditional topics of love, loss and life experiences.
October 13 – Geriatric Jukebox features Jean as soloist and Alan on guitar as they sing in a distinct harmony the classic songs from the 60’s and beyond.
October 20 – Daniel Sage is a rock-n-roll pioneer, born in the Piedmont Triad, North Carolina, USA, Milky Way Galaxy. Influenced by his childhood idols Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, and Kurt Cobain, Sage’s style is strikingly vibrant. A history project, an apathy for public school and an argument with mom allowed Daniel to be released from the traditional education system at the ripe old age of 12. Since then, Sage has traveled the world to develop his unique sound.
October 26 – Roland and Melody featuring Larry Roland’s sophisticated piano styling and playing Sinatra’s music from the 1940s and classical jazz. He is accompanied by the vocalist Melody King, whose velvety voice belts out those old favorites of “Summertime” and “Blackbird” and will set a mood tone fitting to an early Fall evening.
October 27 – Mike Carver and Mare Camody met at a “round robin” style song circle several years back and realized they had a lot in common musically. It was a natural next step to form a duo and start playing around the area and things have really taken off! Carver & Carmody’s sound is a bluesy country blend, mixed in with some original tunes and a whole lot of heart.
