In the Company of Writers presents a series of personal and conversational dialogues featuring guest writers/poets followed by an open mic forum. The Chicago blues music of “Mr. Jimmy,” welcomes you, continues during intermission and closes the evening. These inspirational gatherings will elucidate and entertain those attending. The first in the series opens with guest authors, Gary Ader and Tom Hooker, both now living in Hendersonville, who collaborated on their book, The War Never Ends. The story introduces two vastly different men, Howard Fishman from Brooklyn, and Lastun Wicker from Yazoo County, Mississippi. Forging an unbreakable bond in the battle-scarred jungles of Vietnam, the men return home only to face new challenges. Following Ader and Hooker, will be an open mic for those wishing to share their stories with sign-ups from 6:30 p.m. until 6:50. There will be a sign-up link on The Brandy Bar + Cocktails. This event is co-sponsored by The Brandy Bar + Cocktails and the North Carolina Writers’ Network. Location: The Brandy Bar + Cocktails, 504 7th Ave. E., Hendersonville, 828-513-1336. https://thebrandybar.com/
